Winter hesitated again, afraid to leave Aspid's side after being there for so long- Then took a deep breath as he fluttered out the door and into the sunlight.
It felt wonderful, and he chirped happily before whistling a happy song to himself as the sun warmed his wings.
He circled around Willy as they travelled, but his wings were weak from not being used quite enough over the years, and he eventually had to land on the fae's shoulder.
"You have such dark hair, fae Willy. Such green eyes..." he said, pulling on the fae's hair, then fluttering up to perch on his head. "And you smell strange. Not like earth and trees at all."
