There was just something in the way Winter said that that made Hex really,
really stop. Maybe it was the tone of his voice or the look on his eyes or
the slope of his shoulders. All that, or none of it.

"Oh my god," Hex said softly, easing way just a little bit more. "If I'd

Everything for Hex, when it came to sex at least, revolved around
permission and consent. He couldn't think of anything more vile that
breaking someone's trust by doing anything without permission or consent.

Winter made a soft cooing sound, wriggling his way closer to Hex again and
settling in.
"Mortals are so odd," he said again, yawning loudly and searching for the
covers. "We should sleep, Hex. Let's not invite nightmares by speaking of
the past."
