Winter's colour was slowly returning to him, and his wings were still weak, but were starting to shine once more. He slept often, and for long stretches of time, but it was clear he was slowly mending.
...It was also clear that being kept inside was driving the little pixie mad. He craved sunlight and the kiss of the moon, and he'd taken to spending much of his time pressed against the window looking sad. More so today than ever, since Willy and Fin were out and about. Something to do with Fin's 'work', that was all he'd been told, and he'd blown a raspberry at their backs as the pair had left, then wasted the morning gazing out the window.
"Phouka," he said, whining just a little. "I am bored- The mortal's home is so dull. Give me my potion so I will be tall, and we can go and have hot chocolate in the park," he grinned.

Date: 2015-01-11 09:54 pm (UTC)Suddenly Winter's smile faded, and he pulled away, looking unsure and uneasy as he wrapped his wigs around himself.
"No more," he said quietly, not upset, but simply struggling to let things continue right now. "I think I want to go back to the mortal's home now."

Date: 2015-01-12 02:21 am (UTC)The Phouka carefully picked him up and cradled him close. The creature's heartbeat was steady and loud as he held Winter to his chest.
The mirror in the corner of the room in the cottage was large and all it took was a pass of his hand and he stepped through into Fin's bedroom. The mirror behind them rippled and then became solid once again.
"And we are home. What is your pleasure now, primrose? Food? Rest? Music or telly?" he asked.

Date: 2015-01-12 02:31 am (UTC)"I am hungry, Phouka. Let's feast and enjoy one another's company while we watch telly," Winter suggested cheerfully. "Do I have plenty potion left? I can take more and be large again, if you'd like."

Date: 2015-01-12 02:37 am (UTC)"You should save your potion. I am quite comfortable making myself pixie-sized," he said as he took Winter to the kitchen so he could prepare a feast of bread and fruit, honey and cheese and other delights.

Date: 2015-01-12 02:53 am (UTC)Winter wandered around on the counter, watching Phouka work with curious and bright eyes.
"Fae Willy said my magic may never return," he said after a moment. "Do you think that's true?" he asked.

Date: 2015-01-12 03:01 am (UTC)"It is possible. The wizard's spell was quite awful," Phouka replied. "Have you given thought to what life may be like as one without magic?"

Date: 2015-01-12 03:10 am (UTC)"Then we will trust to hope that the wizard Ebenhard's potion will restore you," Phouka said. "I see glimpses of magic, in between times of fatigue. I think you will not be completely without magic."
But he thought that might be even worse, to have a small taste but be hindered. He wasn't sure he could live like that.

Date: 2015-01-12 03:17 am (UTC)"I miss flying," Winter confessed. "If I must live without magic, I hope my wings at least heal. I would love to fly with you, Phouka. I will dream of it nightly until I can."

Date: 2015-01-12 04:04 am (UTC)"If you like I could become a raven and take you to the clouds," the Phouka offered. Raven was not his prefered form, but it was a possibility.

Date: 2015-01-12 04:08 am (UTC)He smiled then, pleased at the thought of flying high once again, then let his arms drop back to rest at his sides as his eyes opened once more.
"We will have such adventures, Phouka. Just wait and see."

Date: 2015-01-12 08:21 pm (UTC)"With such high spirits I can only assume you are right. That you will heal and we shall take to the skies," Phouka said warmly.

Date: 2015-01-12 09:32 pm (UTC)Winter bounced a little, nodding.
"We can slumber on the clouds and dance among the raindrops."

Date: 2015-01-12 10:58 pm (UTC)"What a delight. I can scarcely wait, primrose. No, come eat," he said, the feast laid out fo rthe pair of them. He put it in a more convenient place and then proceeded to shrink down to Winter's size once aain.

Date: 2015-01-12 11:17 pm (UTC)Sitting down to dig in, Winter couldn't help but smile. Yes, he would mend. He would be well again, and with Aspid gone for good, he would truly flourish now- He was certain of that.
Perhaps he'd even return to the other side to see if he might live amongst his kin... But for now, however, it was nice to simply sit and share a meal with a friend.
Yes, the little pixie felt very sure that things were looking up again.
